No Technology Challenge Accepted

We all use technology here and there, be it our electronic devices, kitchen supplies, furniture, and others.

A few months back, we had a lesson in our English class about how a person doesn't have a telephone. It described how life is with and without technology. For making it easier to understand for the students, our English teacher asked us to experiment with it and try not to use some form of technology.

We know that early men used to live without any form of technology, and they survived, but will that be possible for us?

See it this way, the place you're in, the clothes you're wearing, the device you're using to use this blog, the thing you're sitting on is all made of technology. Even if it's not an electronic device, it still uses technology. The plants you've on your balcony are in pots made using technology.

Now, you see that it is almost impossible for us to ban technology from our lives.

Let's get back to the experiment our English teacher asked us to do. We just learned that it is impossible to live without technology but, only living without any one form of technology chosen by us can be possible. After learning this, I decided not to use any screens like a laptop, phone, tv, etc., for an entire day.

Day Overview

I stuck with my plan and started the challenge. I did this challenge on the weekend, so I don't have to compromise on my online classes and anything significant.

Starting the challenge, I thought it is easy and going to be the same, but it didn't. I was doing good until after breakfast when my family decided to turn on the tv. I had to stay in my room now, as the tv was in the living room.

I was getting bored, but then I realized that my room wasn't at its best face, so I decided to clean up. Usually, I would play some music on my mobile while cleaning up, but this time I couldn't, so I just started singing myself. I found some books I haven't read, and then I started reading. It wasn't long before lunchtime.

After lunch, I had to come back to my room as I knew my family would turn the tv again. I continued reading in my room and, after a while, I was feeling tempted for my electronics again. I diverted my mind by journaling and writing about my day. I spent about half an hour writing.

Now, I had done pretty much everything I love to do, but still, the day didn't come to an end.

I just lay down on my bed, and before I knew it, I was deep asleep.

By the time I woke up, it was dinner time, and after dinner, I went to do my basic night routine, which anyways did not include electronics. After my night routine, I wasn't feeling sleepy, so I went for a walk with my mom, came back home, and got to bed.

I enjoyed my day very much. I exercised in the morning. I cleaned up my room, read, journaled, and took a nap mid-day. I did my night routine and went for a walk at night. I was never able to do all the things I love to do in just one day.

Although I couldn't spend much time with my family as they were using electronic devices, I would be delighted if more people would give this a shot and be regular with the same.
