My Journey to Ikigai
Ikigai. I wrote about this topic in my previous blog but, I didn't quite relate it to my life. So here it is, I will be sharing my journey to Ikigai!
I remember wanting to become a doctor and help people for as long as I can remember and always wanting that. I thought that my interest was studying as I didn't like art or sports or any common interests that I knew about. This changed when the pandemic hit, and I started exploring myself.
I remember sitting beside my mom and seeing her make an 'About Me' PPT, and I was interested to know more. I saw her add information about all the places she had lived in, her interests, and more. So, I did the same and made a PPT about myself. That was the first time I gained some interest in designing. I watched a couple of videos on youtube and saw how they play with the different shapes and animations. My mom saw this interest of mine and enrolled me in a professional course on Udemy. I completed that course within a month, and I used the concepts to learn more.
I made some great presentations for school and some for my mom.
Then, only three months back, I remember watching videos about self-improvement and reading articles about the same. I thought, why can't I give it a try, and that's when I wrote my first blog.
I always loved writing, whether I am happy or sad, surprised or shocked. I always used to write about my feelings. Even when my sister can't stop annoying me, I go start writing in my diary, and by the end of my writing, I have completely changed sides and am writing about how my sister is the best.
Writing always has had something that helped me stay positive no matter what.
In the pandemic, I wasn't able to go out, so I took it as an opportunity to start exploring myself. I still am exploring myself to find my Ikigai. Hope you're doing the same.
Explore yourself, understand yourself and love yourself before anything else.
